Hisashi Kobayashi (Japanese: 小林 久志 ''Kobayashi Hisashi''; born on June 13, 1938) is the Sherman Fairchild University Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Emeritus 〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.princeton.edu/pr/pwb/08/0616/emeritus/ )〕 at Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. His fields of expertise include applied probability; queueing theory; system modeling and performance analysis; digital communication and networks; and network architecture. Currently he is a Senior Distinguished Researcher at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan. He was President of Friends of UTokyo, Inc. The mathematician Shoshichi Kobayashi (1932-2012) was Hisashi's elder brother. Hisashi studied at the University of Tokyo, and completed a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering in electrical engineering in 1961 and 1963, respectively.
